Central Health Building, Corcoran II State Prison
Location: Corcoran, California
Client: California Department of Corrections
Architect: Nacht & Lewis Architects, Sacramento, California
As part of a $300 million project we were presented with many day-to-day challenges. Site wide coordination was probably the most significant challenge.
The need to comply with both the detention and health care code requirements in a single building made this project very difficult to construct. Not only did we have detention security issues to deal with, but we had medical issues such as the construction of lead shielded x-ray areas.
R. Pedersen & Sons' performance on this complex project again exemplified our ability to master a diverse array of construction types.
