    The 124,000 square foot Kings County Jail contains 190 secure cells in which 362 beds are located. The radiating pod design with ground floor and mezzanine cells is very efficient to staff from a central location in each housing unit. The facility includes an intake/processing area, a vehicle sallyport, an administrative area, a medical area, a CCTV courtroom, secure outdoor recreation areas and two housing units.

    The design/construction team of Kings County representatives, The Durrant Group, Teter A+E, R. Pedersen & Sons, Inc., along with numerous subcontractors and designers cooperated to make this a very smooth and pleasurable project.
